What inspires you?
Seeing my work published in its final form. There is no better feeling than pointing to something that I created and telling friends and family, “I did that!”
I am a third-year Communication major at the University of Louisville. Since my freshman year, I have been a writer and editor for the opinion section of The Louisville Cardinal, U of L's official student newspaper. Through this experience, I realized that I enjoy editing even more than writing. So when I learned that Ohlinger Studios offers opportunities in copyediting/proofreading, I knew I had to apply for the internship position.
In my sophomore year, I served as social media manager for the U of L chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) business fraternity. As a member of PBL, I placed 1st in the state and 8th in the country in the Business Communication Competitive Event.
As a junior, I worked as an Academic Coach for U of L’s Resources for Academic Achievement (REACH) tutoring center, where I assisted my peers with their personal or academic concerns and helped them develop short-term goals to address these issues.
From August 2022 to January 2023, I will participate in the Disney College Program internship. Upon graduation, I plan to pursue a career in copyediting/proofreading, particularly in the hospitality, tourism, or media industry.
On the weekends, I work part-time in the food and beverage department at Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay, a local theme park.
When I’m not working, I enjoy taking walks through my neighborhood or doing housework. As you can tell, I am a person who knows how to have fun!
